Actor Daniel Bernhardt
Siro on Mortal
Kombat Conquest.
Actor Daniel Bernhardt plays the fighter, Siro on the hit
tv series Mortal Kombat Conquest. He is a world class
martial artist and has done many movies as both a leading
actor and a fight choreographer. He joins us this evening
here at mortalkombat.com to chat with the fans. |

and Bloodsport you've worked on?
Daniel Bernhardt: I was also in Perfect Target, then
True Vengeance, kind of a John Woo rip-off and I just finished
a film called Chi 2, which will be out pretty soon.
#mortalkombat: JOHNNY 1 says: What's your training schedule
like?
Daniel Bernhardt: Now that I'm on break I do weights
about 3 or 4 times a weak and also my martial arts about 3 or
4 times a week, when I was on the show I didn't have that luxury.
#mortalkombat: Rocky says: I would like to have a chance
to see you.
Daniel Bernhardt: Well, if you go out and ask for me,
then my publicist will arrange personal appearances.
#mortalkombat: Kenny says: How many times have you accidentally
hit someone and hurt them during a fight scene?
Daniel Bernhardt: I probably got hit about 10 times,
I accidentally hit Paolo once during filming, nothing serious
though.
#mortalkombat: Forceflo says: Do you enjoy working with
the other cast members?
Daniel Bernhardt: I very much enjoy working with the
rest of cast.
#mortalkombat: Kenny says: Did anyone ever tumble and
hurt themselves doing those reoccurring flips we see in almost
every fight?
Daniel Bernhardt: As far as I know, no one every got
hurt falling, but I wasn't there for every fight (if I wasn't
in it).

Daniel Bernhardt: I study with Grand Master Hee Ill Cho.

arts web site?
Daniel Bernhardt: Yes, my teacher does have a web site,
I don't remember the URL off hand, but you can search for it.
#mortalkombat: Forceflo says: Where is Conquest filmed
and what is the climate while shooting?
Daniel Bernhardt: We shot it in Orlando, Florida...and
it was damn hot! It was so hot one of the stunt guys actually
passed out once.

Daniel Bernhardt: 18 years.
#mortalkombat: Where says: Is it fun working with Paolo?
Daniel Bernhardt: Yes.

scene you did in MKC?
Daniel Bernhardt: My favorite acting scene was in Thicker
Than Blood when I was talking to my brother about taking him
back. It was well written and had a lot of feeling in it. My
favorite fight was with the two bodyguards of Kabral.

Daniel Bernhardt: Alot of fun.
#mortalkombat: Kenny says: How did you like that scene
where Quan Chi took the form of you and got in bed with Mika
who took the form of Taja?
Daniel Bernhardt: I thought it was pretty cool. That
was actually one of my favorite episodes because it was fun
to play a bad guy.

Daniel Bernhardt: No, I'm not married, but I do have
a girlfriend.
#mortalkombat: JOHNNY 1 says: Daniel do you have to have
a special diet to keep in shape?
Daniel Bernhardt: If I have to play a fighter, yes I
have a special diet, if I'm playing a cop I have a different
diet of course. When I was in Bloodsport I ate nothing but rice
and chicken for a very long time.

shoot there?
Daniel Bernhardt: No, I live in Los Angeles. (show shoots
in florida)

in Mortal Kombat Conquest?
Daniel Bernhardt: My favorite villainess...I thought
Tracy Douglas was terrific.
#mortalkombat: Forceflo says: How long did it take for
you to get used to 3D images?(like fighting a character that
wasn't real. Noob Saibot)
Daniel Bernhardt: Noob was a real person.
#mortalkombat: Where says: Do you have the video game
Mortal Kombat?
Daniel Bernhardt: Honestly, I don't play video games
because I'm REALLY bad at them. I'd rather go outside and do
the real thing.

enemy in MKC?
Daniel Bernhardt: I really liked the Quan Chi character,
he had a really cool costume and I think he's a really talented
actor.

thouch with the cast?
Daniel Bernhardt: Actually, we do all keep in touch,
we get together about every 3 weeks. We all stay in touch. I've
become really good friends with Tracy and her husband.

that I can email you?
Daniel Bernhardt: Once my web site goes up (soon) I'll
have an email address there that you can email me at. If you
just want to send regular mail you can send it care of Threshold
and they will get it to me.

back to help you guys in the next season?
Daniel Bernhardt: I don't know.

for the role Siro?
Daniel Bernhardt: I don't know who else was trying for
the Siro part, but I'm sure there were quite a few.

from?
Daniel Bernhardt: I'm at home (Los Angeles, California)

Daniel Bernhardt: I don't know yet.

big boy :)

of doing any theater acting?
Daniel Bernhardt: JOHNNY: You know, I've thought about
doing theater, but I just love movies so much.

Daniel Bernhardt: Just keep you fingers crossed...and
keep watching the reruns..that helps.

Daniel Bernhardt: Yes.

Daniel Bernhardt: I shot a movie in Toronto. my girlfriend
is Canadian.

you the other day and I noticed you starred beside Brian Thompson
who played Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat Annihilation. How was
it working with him and doing that film. Looked like fun!
Daniel Bernhardt: That was Perfect Target. That was good,
he's a really good actor.

4?
Daniel Bernhardt: I liked Bloodsport 2 better. The good
thing about Bloodsport 4 is that I met my girlfriend on it,
she was the leading lady, the other cop.

will be Kitana in the next season of Mortal Kombat Conquest?
Daniel Bernhardt: I don't know.

Meek? (Rayden in MK Conquest)
Daniel Bernhardt: Jeff is cool. What a great actor and
a great friend. He was always very supportive.

you do?
Daniel Bernhardt: I practice my martial arts and lift
weights.
#mortalkombat: Where says: Daniel, is Rayden funny in
real life as he is in the show?
Daniel Bernhardt: Yes, jeff is really funny. He's overall
a great guy. We practiced our lines together, we had lots of
dinners together, just a great guy.
#mortalkombat: mkc says: Do most the cast live on the
west coast?
Daniel Bernhardt: Most everyone lives on the west coast,
except Paolo who lives in New York.
#mortalkombat: mkc says: Does that mean a lot of commuting
for everyone?
Daniel Bernhardt: Absolutely, everyone temporarily had
to move to Florida.
#mortalkombat: Where says: Daniel, how did you get interested
in Mortal Kombat?
Daniel Bernhardt: I almost got the part for Rayden in
MK2, so when I was offered the part of Siro in MKC I was really
excited.

thought it was great!
Daniel Bernhardt: Thanks, I had a lot of fun on that.
